Licences & authorisations
What each authorisation actually permits, which regulator issues it, and who in the directory holds one. Every tag on a company profile is evidenced against a public register before it publishes.
Reading a licence claim without taking it on trust
5 regimes tracked across the jurisdictions that matter for cross-border payments. Every holder claim on this platform is checked against the issuing regulator's public register, and the check date is published on each regime page — because a licence claim with no register link is marketing, not compliance.
The distinction buyers most often miss is between activity licences and issuance licences. MiCA CASP permits custody, exchange and transfer; MiCA EMT permits issuing a token. 81 companies hold the first and 0 the second, and a provider with only CASP cannot issue you a euro token whatever its site implies.
How a licence claim is verified here
The check every holder claim on this platform passes before it appears.
Regime name plus its registration or reference number.
The regulator's own public register, not an aggregator.
A parent or partner authorisation does not qualify the subsidiary. This is where most claims fail.
Shown on the regime page and re-run monthly. Claims that stop verifying are removed, not caveated.
Licences and authorisations, answered
From buyer questions about regulatory data. Marked up as FAQPage.
A licence claim with no register link is marketing. Every holder claim here carries a check date because we have removed claims that could not be verified — and the most common unverifiable one is a company citing a partner's authorisation as its own. Ask whose name is on the register, not whose name is on the page.
